And the Most Tedious Work Award goes to......

2 years ago, little did I know that I will really into beading.  I love bead. I always do.

I used to collect kinds of beads when I was a little girl. Plastic, wood, glass, fabric (buttons). Oh, yes..I love to collect buttons too..I just love to see their shapes and colors, but never thought to combine them together into a useable piece as some little girls would. I kept them in a small rusty box.

As I grew up, my hobby expanded to many other crafty-related activities. To name some of them, I love ribbon embroidery, cross stitch, stumpwork, scrapbooking, clay shaping, decoupage, glass painting, candle making. I even learn to knit...but, not beading. I am not into wearing jewelry, but I would buy lovely beaded jewelries just for the sake to own them, so that I can see them anytime..

End 2006, I started to seriously brought lots of real nice glass beads. I even bought glass seed beads in bulk! (unbelievable careless if I thought back). This is a wallet burning hobby, as I knew more, my preference moved to handmade glass bead /lampwork beads, Czech glass beads, crystal, up to semi precious stones. Everywhere I went, bead hunting is a must activities ( I still doing so now whenever I travel ), never mind the tired kids...

As my collections piled up, I also started to notice those lovely DIY books. The first thing captured my heart was the challenge. Those designs were so lovely, while I had major part of materials on hand.

So, ..I started.
From the intermidiate level...
and there was no stop until finished a complete pieces...
repeated trial and error..and..error...

Those below pics are some of my copy-created items from the books. Take me hours even days to finish one.

And ....The Most Tedious Work  Award  goes to.....

Above design was copied from a Japanese beading book.

.................................................................

Those above were the days when I didn't really know what I was doing.
I couldn't find my own style. I just cat copy-ing here and there.
The more I bead, the more I can see what kind of design I really love to do.
I still browse those lovely beading books and magazines, I went out and see what kind of handmade jewelry most women wear.
A nip here and a nap there, I rearrange what I saw with what came to my mind.

To my surprise, family and friends love my handmade jewelry colections. They highly encourage me to consider this hobby into a business.
I did try. And found joy, proud and excitement blended  into one, when see a woman look prettier by wearing my creation.

I thank GOD for this talent and opportunity.
Thank you Jesus, I love You.
